School Uniform

The dress code for St. Monica Catholic School students is intended to encourage a neat appearance consistent with our values and appropriate to a learning environment. A uniform sets the tone for each school day - showing that students are ready to work hard, aiming for high standards and caring for one another equally.
We expect all pupils to wear the correct uniform every day and to feel proud both of the way they look and the school they represent.
Personal appearance
- Hair color should be natural. Extreme hairstyles, color or hair art are not allowed.
- A modest amount of natural make-up is acceptable.
- Nails should be kept short. Neutral nail colors are permitted.
Technology
Cellphones and Smartwatches are NOT to be used or worn during the school day. However, students can turn them into their teachers for safekeeping during the day.
Why School Uniforms Matter
Uniforms are practical, economical, reinforce a school’s traditions and educational vision—and they make it a snap to get ready for school!
Decades of study and research prove that uniforms produce a wide range of benefits for communities, schools, parents and students. The pressure tied to fashion in schools can be intense. That’s where a uniform comes in. By adhering to a uniform, we eliminate the socioeconomic tension driven by fashion trends and high-end brands while increasing safety on campus and distinguishing students within their community.
