St. Monica Parish School insures technology literacy by integrating the necessary technical skills into the curriculum.

The network infrastructure is designed to accommodate our current hardware and be flexible enough to expand and grow as new technologies become available. The result is an expanded capability for teachers to integrate curriculum with “anytime-anywhere” computing.
Interactive Whiteboards are in each classrooms and the Library. St. Monica Parish School staff are Smartboard certified and use integration of curriculum and technology with ease. Building cable system (live broadcast within the building), DVD players and VCRs also connect and are viewed on the interactive whiteboards.
Kindergarten through Third grades students are introduced to emerging skills in the computer lab.
Fourth through Eighth grades have networked PCs in the classroom. Students use the computer lab as needed in the curriculum for research and reports.
Networked laser printers are located throughout the building. Sharing resources has allowed excellent quality printing at a fraction of the cost of a non-networked printing model.
Library is equipped with five networked computers. The library collection is accessed through Follett online software. Accelerated Reader, an age level test program, is accessed on the library computers as well as in the computer lab.
Computer Lab is equipped with 30 student computers, one multimedia computer, a scanner, and digital cameras. All classes use the lab as needed for curriculum integration.
DSL Network. The web page, email and student information system is hosted off site.
Weathernet Weather Station consists of several components working together to report current weather conditions. The Master Control Unit automatically stores data for 4 months and is a Barometric Pressure Sensor and indoor temperature sensor. The MCU is connected to a digital display in the science room. Our weather conditions are reported to WeatherBug.com and King5 news.
