Note from Luke's mother:

Hi Pam-
You and your school have been on my heart lately, feeling so grateful for all your love and support for your sparrow, Luke (2007).

Believe it or not, that little baby is now 4 1/2! And he's a big brother! We had Laney Jennifer May 17 of this year and praise the Lord, she has a healthy heart! Our family thinks of St. Monica's often and how incredible that experience was for us, and how much of a blessing the financial support was.

Luke is doing very well and besides a heart catheterization last summer, has needed no surgical intervention since his open heart surgery in August of 2007. He still does need one more open heart surgery, but we are likely still a year or two away from that. He is a funny boy with lots of opinions and he started Pre-K this year.

Luke’s Story –

Luke’s mother (Jesse Smith) was pregnant when they discovered that he would be born with a heart defect.  It appeared to be surgically correctible through a series of operations; but until he was born, little would be known about how many procedures, and whether they would have to start immediately, or they could wait a few weeks or months.

Luke was born to Jesse & Roger Smith on January 9th, 2007 at 12:14pm, weighing 7lbs, 4oz.
