(9/19/07) Lukas was born in January 2007. He was diagnosed in utero with congenital heart disease, specifically single ventricle. His right ventricle did not develop so his left has to do twice the work as the average person's. To take stress off his heart and make it as effective as possible, Luke has undergone 2 open heart surgeries and will need a third when he is 3 years old.
