FAQ’s

What is Scrip?

Scrip is a gift certificate issued by and for many stores that you use.  When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are just like cash.  You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for St. Monica.

How does scrip generate revenue for St. Monica?

St. Monica buys the scrip at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value.  The discount ranges from 2%-15% or more.  This is St. Monica’s profit.

When and where can I buy Scrip?

  1. Scrip is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:15 – 9:15 AM in the large conference room by the office.
  2. Scrip is on sale the second Sunday of every month in the Family Center after all morning Masses.

Who can buy Scrip?

Anyone can purchase Scrip.  You can have family, friends, grandparents, even neighbors purchase Scrip.  You don’t have to be a school family, staff member, or attend St. Monica’s to buy scrip.

Can I pay with a credit or debit card?

Yes, we accept cash, checks, and credit or debit cards.  There is a small percentage charge for processing credit cards.

Why should St. Monica families participate in scrip?

It is a fundraising program that puts your regular household dollars to work for the school.  Unlike most fundraisers you are not asked to spend any additional money.

How do I become a Scrip volunteer?

We are always looking for volunteers and new ideas to keep the program running.  Contact Shari Pederson at 425.652.1278
