What are the components of
an effective school-wide reading program?
- The classroom
instruction and materials must be based on current educational research.
St. Monica Parish School is currently using the Zaner-Bloser Reading Program
Voices, a comprehensive literacy and character development program.
- Struggling students
should receive instruction/re-teaching in a small group setting three to
five times per week with a qualified reading teacher.
- Parents and
teachers work together to insure that students have the practice and support
they need to master the skills in each stage of reading development.
