Where charity and love prevail there God is ever found..."

From the Desk of Mrs. Dellino, Principal

June 4, 2008

Dear St. Monica School Families,

What a great school year we have had!

Today we acknowledged the Passing of the Candle of leadership from our departing 8th graders to next year’s 8th grade class.  We are grateful for the excellent leadership our graduating students have shown us this year. They have truly been Christian Role Models for our community.

Tomorrow evening we will see thirty-one eighth graders graduate from St. Monica School. We offer our congratulations to the Class of 2008 on their successful completion of the elementary years of education.  Best wishes to…Michael Amico, Marty Arpin, Tracey Bakun, Gemma Balinbin, Sarah Bradley, Reilly Bucy, Emily Dauer, Alexei DiJulio, Matt Hart, Paul Hyde, Katherine Iwanyk, Jack Jelinek, Alexis Jensen, Lauren Khalfayan, Kayla Lam, Alex LaVallee, Andrew lee, Amanda Mahan, Marian Mathew, Annie Mazure-Schmidt, Katie McDonald, Max Mueller, Sarah, Orrico, Sarah Pangallo, Lauren Rehn, Shane Rillos, Anthony Roy, Jake Shaddle, Brenna Smersh, Spencer Terrien, and Jake Warfield.

Looking Ahead To Next Year:
In the interest of conservation and keeping in line with the “green” way of doing things, the school will be doing more communication online and less via “paper” in the form of a weekly family packet. The principal letter, school newsletter, and all communication from the school will be newly updated weekly on our school website.

We will send a weekly email to all school families reminding you to check the web for important information and updates. Most forms and other documents will be scanned onto the website and conveniently available for your use.

Special Note: If you are a family that still prefers to have a weekly packet prepared and sent home with your child, please contact the school office and let Mrs. Carton know. We will be happy to accommodate your request. Thanks for your support!

Our new pastor, Fr. Freitag, is in favor of the school attending weekly Mass with the parish. It is a practice he also has in place at his current parish school. For next year we will be moving this weekly attendance to the 8 AM Parish Mass every FRIDAY morning.  I hope that informing you of this change now will allow plenty of time to consider carpool schedules and may make it easier for all. Again, this is not mandatory, but a request to join us at Mass in prayer with the entire parish community. Thanks again for your flexibility and support!!

May God bless you and those you love!
