6th grader Math Olympiads: A chance to develop problem solving skills  

 

Math Olympiads is a national program to give 6th graders a chance to enhance their problem solving skills through a variety of practice sessions, and competitions that are held five times a year. This year the 6th graders will meet during their enrichment time one day a week.

The goals of math Olympiads are:

 The meetings for  Math Olympiads will meet during 5th period .

 Please make the commitment to attend for the entire year, and you will be amazed at your mathematical growth!

Each week we will work on 5-10 challenge problems. Students will be presenting and learning!

National competitions begin in November. Math Olympiads will be given sets of 5 problems, to solve in  25 minutes. Their  results are submitted to the National Program.  Students compete to be the best of St. Monica Parish School as well as place in Nationals. 

You do not need to be a math genius - just a student who is willing to expand their own problem solving skills!
