“CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: DIVIDENDS FOR LIFE”
Catholic Schools’ Week is a national celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the nation play in providing a Christ-centered foundation and academic excellence for America’s young people. St. Monica Parish School invites you to gather in unity to share knowledge, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate “Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life.” The following is a list of the scheduled events throughout the week. We invite you to join us anytime during the week.
Sunday, January 31st - Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life - In Our Parish. St. Monica Parish School families will participate in all the Masses. Distinguished Graduate 2010, Mrs. Michele (McDonald) McCarthy, 1981 graduate, will be honored at the 12 noon Mass. Immediately following Mass, please join us in the St. Monica Parish Learning Center for the blessing and dedication of this new building by Archbishop Brunett. There will also be a reception in honor of our Distinguished Graduate – Michele McCarthy, in the Parish Learning Center. St. Monica Parish School Open House will be from 9:30am - 11:30pm. Please join us for informal tours of the school and an opportunity to see first hand the Catholic school experience. Everyone is welcome!
Monday, February 1st - Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life - In Our Parents. St. Monica Parish School honors all of our parents who are committed to Catholic education and all that it offers their children. Each parent will receive a token of appreciation for their commitment to St. Monica Parish School.
Tuesday, February 2nd - Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life - In Our Community. We celebrate the school’s bond with the community. St. Monica Parish School eighth-grade students will deliver a gift to our neighbors in appreciation of their continued support.
Wednesday, February 3rd - Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life: In Our Faculty and Staff. St. Monica Parish School honors the faculty and staff who devote their careers to teaching students and infusing them with the faith, knowledge, morals, and discipline that are all hallmarks of Catholic education. Lunch is provided for the faculty and staff. Please join us for the St. Monica Parish School Open House 8:45am – 10:30am.
Thursday, February 4th - Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life: In Our Students. St. Monica Parish School honors the students who express “Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life” through their academic endeavors, their growth in Catholic faith, and their progress toward leading fulfilling lives of love and service: faith, knowledge, morals, and discipline. Surprise treats will be provided for the students.
Friday, February 5th - Catholic Schools: Dividends for Life: For Our Grandparents & Grand Friends. We welcome our Grandparents and Grand Friends beginning at 8:30am in the school and honor those relationships that enrich our lives. We invite everyone to join us for a special liturgy at 9:00am led by the school students. There will be activities in the school with a reception for our Grandparents and Grand Friends. The Margo Brahm Memorial Scholarship winner to be announced immediately following Mass.
