Facts about the Annual Giving and the St. Monica Parish School Annual Fund
In the past 25 years the costs of running a school have escalated dramatically due to the fact that donated services of the religious no longer subsidize the schools.
The Annual Fund helps bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating the students and the price of tuition, currently $8,500.00 versus $5,400.00 for subsidized tuition for one child at St. Monica Parish School.
School parents are included in the Annual Fund campaign in addition to paying tuition because:
Your children are the direct recipients of the benefits derived through the Annual Fund.
It allows present programs to remain in effect, thus benefiting the students who are currently attending the school.
The support of the parent community indicates to outside organizations such as foundations, corporations etc. that the parents are so concerned with the well being of the school that they are willing to donate above and beyond the cost of tuition.
Strong parent support impresses outside groups and tends to make them look favorably on the school for funding considerations.
An Annual Fund cycle allows school families to pay their pledge over time. It also enables the Development office an extended period of time to reach and/or exceed the Annual Fund goal. ($115,000 for 2010/2011)
