 General Information Hours of operation: The St. Monica Parish School After School Care Program hours are as follows: Mondays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on days in which St. Monica Parish School is in session. In addition, the After School Care Program will also provide care on all half days from school dismissal until 6:00 pm and on parent teacher conference days from 8:30am to 6:00 pm. Location: The After School Care is located in the St. Monica Parish Learning Center. Enrollment Contract: Please complete the Enrollment Contract in advance to ensure availability. The program is only for current St. Monica Parish School students. Children cannot attend the program without being registered or receiving permission by the principal or director. Late Fees: A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged to parents who arrive after 6:00 p.m. It is your responsibility to have someone pick up your child by 6:00 p.m. After School Care Tuition: St. Monica Parish School After School Care Tuition rates for the 2009-2010 school year are listed below based on the number of days per week each month that care is required. In the event you require care on half days or on parent teacher conference days, you will be charged in arrears at a rate of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per hour for any hours in excess of your normal registered care. Notwithstanding the foregoing, After School Care Tuition will only be charged at an hourly rate in the month of June. If your child is in Kindergarten and you require extended care on Friday Kindergarten Half-Days, you will be charged an additional fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) per day for care provided from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm which would be in addition to any drop in fee or regular tuition due for care from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm that day. On such Friday Kindergarten Half-Days, Kindergarteners will attend lunch and recess with the rest of the school before being escorted to the After School Care Program at 1:00 pm. The drop in rate will be twenty dollars ($20.00) per day (excluding half days and parent teacher conference days) for children who require care during regular after school care hours who are not registered in the program or who require additional care during any given week. 1. One day a week: Sixty-five Dollars ($65.00) per month 2. Two days a week: One Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($ 115.00) per month 3. Three days a week: One Hundred Seventy Dollars ($170.00) per month 4. Four days a week: Two Hundred Twenty Dollars ($220.00) per month 5. Five Days a week: Two Hundred Fifty-Five Dollars ($255.00) per month 6. Kindergarten Extended Care on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm: Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) per day Escort Children: A teacher escort will meet the children after school at a designated area. They will bring the children directly to the After School Care. If children don’t show up on time, they cannot walk to After School Care on their own without supervision. Sign in and Sign out Procedure: Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each After School session. Students must sign in when they enter the After School Care and make contact with a staff member. Parents must sign their child out (and make contact with a staff member) before leaving the room and/or school grounds. Homework: A specific time will be set aside each day for homework. When the children come in they are asked to work on homework for a half hour. If they want to spend a longer period of time on the homework, it’s fine. The staff will guide the students, but the students are responsible for problem solving and finding solutions independently. Snack: The children are given a healthy snack and water to drink at a set time daily. Parents need to let us know of any dietary restriction of their child, on the Registration Form. This is a “nut free zone” at all times. Student Management: The staff is there to encourage positive and appropriate behavior. Students who participate in the program are expected to follow instructions and join-in with the planned activities. Discipline actions will be handled in a polite, positive manner. Parents will be notified of any incidents that take place during After School hours. (See Incident Report) Closure Dates: Remember, if there is no school, there is no After School Care. This includes snow days and holidays. We will open during Teacher/Parent Conferences and other school related closures. Check the weekly Family Packet and school website for dates and times.
