Discipline Policy

St. Monica Parish School After School Care staff is trained to nurture and care for the children who arrive each day.  The staff will encourage positive appropriate behavior to avoid anger or attitude from any students.  Students who participate in the program are expected to follow instructions join-in with planned activities. Discipline actions will be handled in a polite & positive manner. 

Step One: Confront the child (Discuss the matter one on one).

Step Two:  Ask the child to take a “cool-down” moment. (Relax in a quiet place for a while).

Step Three: Have the child complete an Incident Report explaining what happened and how to prevent it from occurring again in the future.

Step Four: Contact parents and inform them details from every child’s perspective. Remind them of the Discipline Policy….Three Incident Reports and they are removed from Extended Care.
