
November 15-17, 2008: Oral book report. You know the drill. A costume is a must for an “A”. The time frame is six to eight minutes. Memorized, not read. Note cards turned in and graded. No writing entire book report on the notes.
December 5, 2008: Read a book that is uplifting, or perhaps a “Christmas style book” Ideas include The Cat Who Came Home for Christmas or a book about how to celebrate Christmas in a simple manner. Written in class.
January 9, 2009 A written book report. This book report will be due a few weeks prior to our play, so plan accordingly. This book must: be on the accelerated book list and you will take the accelerated reading test
February 6, 2009: One page written report. Summary, author, number of pages…characters, conflict, resolution in class. This book is due a week following the play, so plan accordingly...written in class
March 6, 2009: This book report is to be done as a Character Tree. There will examples. Make sure that the book that you read has strong characters.
April 3, 2009 Read a classic. Jane Eyre, Little Women, Hound of the Baskervilles. Call of the Wild. Get an okay from me prior to reading your book. One page summary in class.
May 1, 2009 Your last book report for me. Read what you would like! Be creative. Prepare a game, a puzzle, a model. Have fun!
Please read at your level. These should be about 250 pages. Look for good books that inspire you to want to read further.
