Weekly Spelling Words
In third grade the students will
have 15 words and 2 dictation sentences. We will work out of the spelling book during the week.
In addition, the third graders are going to be asked to do four of the following
activities. The students will turn in these activities Friday morning.
Please see the list of activities below. Thursday will be a review day and test on Friday!

Sentences:
1. The person at the party turned
thirty years old.
2. My mom will be mad if I get dirt
on my shirt.
Choices:
- Write the word
three times in pencil.

Write antonyms or synonyms for each spelling word.

Alphabetize your spelling words (ABC order)

Write a story using as many spelling words as you can. Underline the
spelling word.

Write a sentence with each spelling word.

Make an acrostic poem with three words. (Remember in an acrostic poem, you
write the word down and write sentences to describe that word.)

Create and do a word search.

Type words two times each (For a challenge, this can be done in ABC order)

Do
your own mini pre-test.
- Write as many rhyming words as
you can with the spelling words.
