1st Grade We are growing a garden of gratitude and kindness in the first grade! Welcome 1st Graders - 2010-2011 Dear First Grade Parents, Welcome to First Grade at St. Monica School! My name is Sarah Marchione and I will be your child’s teacher. I grew up attending Catholic school in Seattle at St. John and Seattle Prep, and went on to receive my B.A. in English Literature from the University of Washington and a Master in Teaching degree from Seattle University. I feel blessed to teach at St. Monica School and love working with first graders – they are possibly the most imaginative, open and adventurous of all the ages of children I have spent time with! Supply List Shopping: 1st Grade Supply list link Please send your first grader with their supplies on the first day of school; we will “unload” them in class! The year ahead promises to be a successful one for your first grader, as the curriculum has been developed to focus on the total child. The program is designed to meet each child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional needs. By working together I am confident that we can give your child the very best in primary education. I look forward to building caring and trusting relationships with your children, as well as witnessing their growing relationship with each other as a community of learners and friends. We have a great adventure ahead in St. Monica Parish School First Grade! Sincerely, Sarah Marchione
